Every second year the Namibian Area AGM is hosted by Walvis Bay 36. After a spectacular AGM in 2016 hosted by 36 we decided to make this AGM as affordable as possible by keeping registration costs down and providing home-hosting where possible.
Our strategy work with a total of 64 registrations for the weekend including our esteemed PrezAndrew Lea and his wife Karen, Area Chairs from RSA and 41ers both local and in RSA. Our theme for the weekend –REDNECK.
We inducted 3 fresh faces into Table and inducted our incoming Area Chairman –Johan Steenkamp.
Stefan Du Raan of Hochland 154 was awarded the prestigious Tabler of the year Award. Stefan single handedly revived our local magazine, the OKUJAMBA after a few absent years. Well done to all the award winners and the incoming Council. May you build on previous years and take the Area to new heights. Also, for the first time in what seemed like forever we had two Tablers competing for the Area Vice Chairman position. After a fierce fight Amize Adams was victorious. Well done to Amize as well.
Tabling in Namibia is at an all-time high. Fresh ideas, fresh faces!
Our ladies tour comprised of a trip to Pelican Point to do some kayaking between our seal colonies. The income generated by our hosts will in turn be donated to the oncology ward at the Red Cross Children’s hospital in Cape Town. Great initiative guys and we are humbled to be part of this initiative.
What a weekend! What a team! What an Area!
In the words of one of our campaigners for the position of Area Vice Chairman: TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK. For those who did not join us –here are some pics to make you jealous…
We look forward to a great Table year. Y’all come back now, ya hear!
