Round Table Namibia is an association of young men between the ages of 18 and 40 who use the networking to alleviate societal challenges. Above Round Table Namibia there is an association called Round Table Southern Africa which is a grouping of Tables in both Namibia and South Africa. It is from this Association that the Winter Knights Project stems from.
2025 marked the 21st year in which the project was run in Namibia. The project is always penciled for the first Friday of June of each year. The project entails rallying the Corporate and Civic Society to actively set side time and mobilize resources to aid Namibians in need during the burning desert winter season. We have been privileged to have Future Media, DMS, MyGateway and PEP as partners on this project. What is mobilized during the project is used to purchase food hampers, blankets and care packages for the members of our extended community that are in need.
The project itself takes the following form:
• Pre-distribution which is undertaken leading into the winter season.
• Active selling of corners which usually starts in April of each year to raise funds.
• First Friday of June collection at pre-identified and sold corners between 6am till 8am.
• Corporate Pledges which are championed by Future Media.
• Collation of items collected as well as the cash.
• Doubling up phase for companies that want to double up what their teams collected.
• Active support to communities needing help.
The success of Winter Knights in Namibia stems from the deep-rooted goodness of the Namibian People. In 2025 the Area project lived up to the billing by collecting a total value of approximately N$ 1,120,941.00. This is comprised of:
a) N$740,941.00 in total corner sales, corner collections and pledges
b) N$ 380,000.00 in total goods in kind.
Year after year, this initiative proves that when communities come together, they can bring warmth and hope to those who need it most. The Round Table family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Namibia people and Companies who brave the cold first Friday morning of Winter so that others don’t have to.
